Biography of

Rev. Sarah R. Anthony

Reverend Sarah Renee Anthony is a native of Paterson, New Jersey. She is a product of the Paterson and Englewood school system. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Felician University. She is currently employed with the New Jersey Community Development Corporation in their real estate department.

Licensed to preach in May 1998 by the Late Reverend William H. Butler, Founder of Grace Gospel Church and Ordained in May 2018 by her then Pastor, Reverend Yvoma Butler. Reverend Anthony served as the Administrative Assistant to the Pastor at her home church, Grace Gospel Church in Paterson, New Jersey. Under the leadership of Reverend Yvoma Butler, she also severed as the Facilitator of the Youth Board, Women’s Committee member, Sunday School Teacher, Bible Study teacher, and Facilitator of Just Because We’re Sister’s Women’s Ministry. On January 31, 2021, Reverend Sarah Anthony was elevated to Co-Pastor of Grace Gospel Church and on September 9, 2023, she was installed as Senior Pastor of Grace Gospel Church.

Reverend Anthony also is the current President of the Board of Trustees for the William H. Butler Help Center located in Paterson, New Jersey. She is the Co-Chairperson for Creative Paterson Housing Coalition, a member of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) under Councilwoman Ruby Cotton, she is a member of the Board of Directors of Passaic County Habitat For Humanity, a member of the tithe committee with PCHFH, a member of One Square Mile of Paterson, a Spiritual Advisor for Servant’s Heart Ministry, a member of Faith in Passaic County Executive Committee, A founding charter member of the League of Women’s Voters of Paterson, The Board President of Gilmore Memorial Board of Directors, A member of the New Jersey Governor’s Council for Mental Health Sing for Mental Health Council Subcommittee, and a participant of the Executive Committee of the City of Righteousness Interfaith Paterson Police Clergy Council. Reverend Anthony love for people and the desire to spread the gospel goes beyond the four walls of the church and as a result, the Lord birth in her, By His Grace Outreach Ministry that feeds the homeless and provides winter accessories such as blankets, gloves, hats, scarves, earmuffs, and personal toiletries.

Reverend Anthony has a love for God and His people and understands that she is still standing because of His grace and mercy towards her. She has yielded to the call on her life and remains a willing vessel to be used by Him for the purpose in which He has ordained for her life. Reverend Anthony holds to II Chronicals 7:14 “ If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”.

She is the proud mother of three, Brandon Scott, Teretha Jane, and Samuel Eli. And one grandson, Jayson Siddhartha and one granddaughter, Zuri Hannah.
